Nonprofit sustainability and the power of data

How much money was raised last week? You can probably find that easily in your organization. Or maybe you cannot. But let us say you have the basic information and reporting tools to pull a list of your donors or put in a spreadsheet the relevant numbers to appease your board of directors. How much more clarity do you have about your organization’s financial picture? Do you know the communities where your donations are coming from? Do you know the organization’s donor retention rate? Can you see your lapsed donors versus new donors in real time? Most organizations cannot, and that is understandable given the constraints that come with small nonprofits. You may not have the time. You may not have the expertise. This is where we come in. Using science, leveraging research and having a staff of PhDs looking into your organization, you can go from no data collection to think tank in about a week. Our relationship to customers focuses on helping them succeed as soon as possible, but we hope to help you succeed for years moving forward.

Do the work. Make the impact. Let your mission be your North Star. Use data to make it solidified.

To generalize, a nonprofit needs to execute on its mission. To do this, nonprofits must understand the communities they are in. Like corporate market analysis, a community analysis can reveal how well your organization is responding to your mission and the needs of the community. Knowing the needs of the community can be incredibly challenging for companies of any size. We see political candidates struggle to understand their constituents constantly, and they have the resources to throw millions into answering the questions of the communities they aim to serve. Your organization should focus on understand the community you are in, and without that understanding, the path towards success is near impossible to realize.
